The Freight Forwarding Association Board considered the concept of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). The concept is based on a partnership between the customs authorities and companies, introduced by the World Customs Organization (WCO). This means that the relationship between customs authorities and the AEO should always be based on the principles of mutual transparency, correctness, honesty and accountability. AEO can be defined as an economic agent, which is considered to be reliable in the context of customs procedures, thus having the right to enjoy certain benefits.

Through the establishment of AEO program, the Customs Administration has created the conditions for the implementation of this institute. The economy should also be ready for implementation of AEO in order to gain mutual benefits, it was announced at the meeting.

- The benefits are numerous and include internationally recognized company reliability, faster transport of goods to the destination, facilitation with regard to customs procedures and control. The company, which has been granted AEO status, is a reliable partner, since within the verification process it has been proven that it meets specific criteria and thus enjoys special privileges.

The extended session was attended by representatives of company NTC, Glosarij, Farmegra, Okov, Ening, Bar-kod, Coal Mine Pljevlja, Water group, Eko-per, Brewery "Trebjesa" and Uniprom KAP, in order to prepare the business community for the implementation of AEO programs.
