Growth of the transport indicators

16/07/2019

The Transport Association Board was presented with the statistics for this sector in the first quarter of this year and it discussed current issues in the field of maritime and road transport.

- Regarding the turnover of goods in ports, better results were achieved in the second quarter. The deficit recorded in the first quarter was annulled, while the level of transhipment of goods increased compared to the same period in 2018 - said the Board President Deda Đelović.

The Board considered the comments received on the proposed amendment to the Law on Ports. Nela Vitić, representative of Ocean Montenegro does not agree with a comment relating to further defining who can get concessions for port operations. She believes that this is an unnecessary liberalization and that the Law on Concessions needs to be applied.

Dino Tutundžić, a senior advisor in the Directorate of Maritime Economy, has said that the issue of concessions will be harmonized with the laws defining concessions and public private partnership.

Board members were acquainted with the amendments to the Law on Road Transport.
