Let’s Buy Domestic Products


The Government of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and in partnership with retail chains and manufacturers, is launching a strong campaign to promote local products and services "Let’s Buy Domestic Products".

The meeting, attended by the representatives of the Government, the CEM and the business community, was opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development MA Milutin Simović, Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić  and President of the Chamber Vlastimir Golubović. Vice President Simović has said that he was pleased with the expressed willingness to join efforts on this important project, which is the only formula guaranteeing success. According to him, "Let’s Buy Domestic Products" does not only represent a campaign, but should be regular and continuous activity of all partners in the project.

Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić says that Montenegro, as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and CEFTA, must not and cannot favor domestic products over the imported ones. However, it can make them more visible.  

President of the Montenegrin Chamber Vlastimir Golubović explained that the initiative of this association and two ministries should contribute to a better positioning of national products on the market and raising consumers’ awareness of domestic products and services.

Representatives of the business community emphasized positive attitude on the promotion of domestic products under the slogan "Let’s Buy Domestic Products" by noting that such a good practice has been present in the region as well as the EU countries for a long time.
