Partnership for a More Competitive Region

SEE countries can offer good system solutions to improve business conditions and need a common platform that will manage the process of transferring successful economic reforms among members, it was estimated at the session “Partnership for a More Competitive Region” organized by the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED), supported by the Germany development cooperation and the European Investment Bank, within the XII annual Assembly of the organization.

E-building permits transferred from Macedonia to Serbia and Albania are examples of successful “export” of good practices and solutions in regulating the status of seasonal workers have the same potential. The exchange of knowledge was initiated by partner institutions from the region implementing the Business Friendly Certification South East Europe (BFC SEE) in five countries – Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The BFC SEE programme has been implemented since 2012 and so far, the process of certification included almost 100 cities and municipalities in five countries, out of which 44 have met the criteria for obtaining certificates. Six municipalities in Montenegro started the certification process: Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Tivat, Cetinje, Žabljak and Bijelo Polje.
