Private sector and inclusive partnership for sustainable development


Round table on "Private sector and inclusive partnership for sustainable development" was organized by the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with UNDP. This topic was presented by the Vice President of the Montenegrin Chamber Ivan Saveljić, the Director of the Directorate General for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ana Vukadinović and the UNDP experts Astrid Schnitzer-Skjønsbergi and Mara Niculescu.

The experts presented the modalities of engaging the private sector in international development cooperation and humanitarian aid, as well as concrete examples of activities carried out by the Austrian Development Agency on the Balkans. They pointed out that the about three trillion dollars per year are necessary in order to meet objectives of sustainable development at the global level. It is an investment in the water management, agriculture, telecommunications, energy, transport, construction, forestry in developing countries.

Donor countries have shown growing interest in the promotion of sustainable investments in these sectors. They can affect the removal of barriers to investment, mitigating the risk and directing private capital toward the sustainable development goals.
