The President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy Vlastimir Golubović met with the President of the Municipality of Danilovgrad Zorica Kovačević and on this occasion discussed the ways to improve cooperation in terms of the development of the business environment.

Golubović explained that visit to Danilovgrad represents part of the program activities of the Chamber in order to develop institutional partnerships with decision-makers at the local level. He briefly presented the activities which this association conducts in terms of the improvement of the regulatory framework, promotion of the economy through the presentations at fairs in the region and projects “Good from Montenegro”, “Let’s Buy Domestic” and “Homemade Flavours”. He stressed the importance of arbitration for faster and more efficient resolution of commercial disputes as well as the role of the Chamber in the reform of the education system, especially in the affirmation of the dual education. According to him, these areas offer plenty of possibilities for strengthening cooperation with the local government of Danilovgrad.

The meeting was an opportunity to present the results of the analysis on doing business in all Montenegrin municipalities which was developed by the Chamber. The president expressed his satisfaction with the fact that more companies are becoming interested in conducting business activities in the municipality of Danilograd, but he highlighted that 178 of them reported only one employee, which is a possible indicator of operating in the grey economy.

President Zorica Kovačević pointed out that the municipality seeks to attract more investors, which the reduction/abolition of certain taxes and low tax rates on real estate contribute to. The labour force shortage and the combating the grey economy represent challenges for the management of the municipality.

The activities of the municipality in the Business Friendly Certification process were presented as well.
