Economic cooperation with Albania should be fostered

The Montenegrin Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, the National Tourism Organization and the Investment and Development Fund, organized the participation of Montenegrin businessmen in the 26th International Klik Expo Fair 2019 in Tirana from 23 until 26 November 2019.

The Montenegrin Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, the National Tourism Organization and the Investment and Development Fund, organized the participation of Montenegrin businessmen in the 26th International Klik Expo Fair 2019 in Tirana from 23 until 26 November 2019.

This year the Fair gathered over 400 exhibitors from 25 countries, representing sectors such as agriculture and food industry, construction, energy, metallurgy, electronic engineering, hospitality, IT, wood processing, finance etc. Twenty Montenegrin companies took the opportunity to present their products at the national exhibition stand of Montenegro as well as to establish new business contacts.

During the fair, the Montenegrin and Tirana Chambers organized the Business Forum, which was attended by 50 representatives of the two business communities.   

During the previous year the foreign trade between Montenegro and Albania amounted to EUR 55.8 million, while in the first nine months of 2019 it amounted to EUR 41 million. Montenegro mostly imported concrete and iron from Albania and exported wood and aluminium. The potentials for stronger economic cooperation exist in tourism, agriculture and food industry and building materials industry. The establishment of joint ventures would contribute to the strengthening of the economic relations.

The economic and investment potentials of the two countries were presented as well. During business meetings, the representatives of the business communities discussed the possibilities of establishing partnerships.
