Montenegro Turkey Business Forum

There are many opportunities for improving the cooperation between the Montenegrin and Turkish business communities, especially in the fields of tourism, trade, energy, infrastructure, agriculture and wood processing industry and foundation set by the two governments should be exploited.

This is estimated at the Montenegro Turkey Business Forum, attended by over 100 representatives of the two business communities.  

Trade between Montenegro and Turkey in 2018 amounted to EUR 100.8 million, i.e. by 7.9% more compared to the previous year. Turkey is the sixth largest investor in 2018, which invested EUR 53.17 million in Montenegro. During this year it invested EUR 15.73 million. More than 2,800 Turkish companies operate in Montenegro, while seven companies with Montenegrin capital operate in Turkey. Among the biggest investors are ”Tosyali Holding“, “Global Ports Holding“, “Ziraat banka“, “Gintaš Construction Constructions and Trade“, “Turk HavaYollari“ (Turkish Airlines office), “Montenegro Wood Sancakli Mobilya Rožaje“.

The economic and investment potentials of the two countries were presented. The plenary session was followed by business meetings about the opportunities for cooperation.

The event, organized by the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro in cooperation with the Committee for Foreign Economic Relations of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey (DEIK) was preceded by the fifth session of the Joint Montenegrin-Turkish commission for economic cooperation.
