The Montenegrin Chamber organized an Info Day related to "Protection of intellectual property rights as an integral part of the innovation and technology transfer." The Chamber is a partner on the realization of an international project ShipmenTT which aims at establishing an innovation ecosystem focused on the green sea mobility sector across the ADRION area.

Ten partners from eight countries cooperate in this project: four EU member states - Greece, Italy, Croatia and Slovenia and four non-EU member states - Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. The project budget amounts to EUR 1,324,655.

The project main outputs include support to 250 SMEs in terms of the intellectual property management and access to finance, then facilitation of industry-academia cooperation for 50 SMEs and comprehensive strategy for the development of a regional innovation ecosystem driven by blue-technologies in the green sea mobility field.

The info-day has been an excellent opportunity for all participants to obtain a clear picture of an overall IPR protection system in Montenegro, as well as the interconnection between innovations and IPR and the importance and necessity to protect these rights. The safest way to protect these values is the registration with the Ministry of Economy. In Montenegro, there are other institutions which are dealing with this issue, because it cannot be an activity of just one institution. Only their coordination ensures positive results, said the speakers during the Info Day.
