Ambassador of Finland visits the Chamber


Ambassador of Finland, based in Belgrade, Mr. Pertti Ikonen met the Vice President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro (CEM) Mr. Ivan Saveljic and discussed the opportunities for development of business cooperation between two countries. Having in mind the current trends that diplomacy is becoming an agent for development of business relations, Mr. Ikonen has said that the Embassy of Finland in Belgrade devotes special efforts to promote direct economic cooperation of Serbian, Montenegrin and Macedonian companies with potential partners from Finland.

These activities in all diplomatic missions of these countries are conducted by an organization Finnish team. This is a network which promotes the economy and represents the interests of Finnish companies abroad in order to develop business relations with domestic enterprises. The interlocutors agreed to check up on interests of companies from both countries in order to discuss the possibility of organizing a business forum in Montenegro during the next year.

In order to develop stronger relations with thirty embassies, which are based in Belgrade and monitor Montenegro on non-residential basis, the ambassador suggested organizing promotional meetings and presentation of its economy in this city.

The Vice President informed his guest about the importance and structure of the Montenegrin chamber system especially in international relations. He has also announced the Economic Conference which will take place in Budva on 27th and 28th October. He invited the ambassador to take part in the Conference.
