Economic cooperation between the two countries to be promoted

The President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro Vlastimir Golubović hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Rashid Hassan Pour Baei. On that occasion the interlocutors discussed the possibilities for stronger development of economic and business cooperation between the two countries.

According to them, the two countries have had quality political relations for many years, but there are evidently many opportunities for improving economic cooperation. The foreign trade between the two countries during the previous year amounted to EUR 517,000, which is below the expectations and capabilities of the two countries.

The President Golubović presented the potentials of the Montenegrin economy, with special emphasis on tourism, energy, agriculture and the information and communication technology sector, which are considered as opportunities for improving cooperation and attracting new investments.

The Ambassador Rashid Hassan Pour Baei pointed out that the size of a country is not measured by its area and population, but by its potentials. He expects fruitful cooperation and support from the Chamber regarding the introduction of the Iraq companies into the Montenegrin economic system.

It is necessary to establish partnerships between the two chambers through the signing of a cooperation agreement and the organization of visits by business delegations, the interlocutors concluded.
