Economic cooperation needs to be strengthened

Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Montenegro Mr. Roman Hloben visited the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro and met with its President Vlastimir Golubović.

The Ambassador stressed very good cooperation with the Chamber. He says that the two countries foster the excellent political relations, but unfortunately, economic cooperation is not on the same level. Therefore, he initiated the visit to the Chamber, respecting it as an institution which can contribute to the strengthening economic cooperation, and thus increasing the trade in goods and services between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of cooperation at the level of the Joint Commission for economic cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia, as one of the preconditions for its strengthening.

President Golubović agrees that it is necessary to make additional efforts to improve economic cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia. The President considers that it would be useful to provide representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises from Slovakia with information on the benefits offered by free and business zone. Taking into account the experience of Slovakia in the field of metal processing industry and energy, he considers important presenting the projects of construction of large hydropower plants to Slovak companies. Therefore, he suggested organizing a business forum in early 2019.
