In order to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, Germany is interested in increasing purchase of the Montenegrin organic and other products, bringing investors in our country, then opening a representative office in Montenegro. An invitation has been sent to our young entrepreneurs to visit that country, it was announced during the meeting between Vlastimir Golubović, of the Chamber president and PhD. Robert Weber, the German Ambassador to Montenegro.

Ambassador Weber said that the government of this country and the Union of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) want to increase the presence of the business association in Montenegro, as it is the practice in other countries. Weber says that Montenegro has a lot to offer to the European market, because it is not focused on mass production.

- In agriculture, you have many high-quality products and a large number of Germans are increasingly buying them. We have chains of supermarkets, where your local organic food could be placed. The priority is to put the Montenegrin producers on the map of the German manufacturers and suppliers and bring a business delegation to your country. In cooperation with Slovenian colleagues we will establish joint ventures, aimed at establishing connections between the German and Montenegrin producers. The Chamber is an institution, which can help us find the appropriate companies for this activity - said Webber.

The President Golubović stressed the great importance of positioning Montenegrin high-quality products in the German market.

- Montenegro has many opportunities and good conditions for healthy food production. The Ministry specifically stimulates the organic production. We have very high quality water, fine wines, olive oil, which can be positioned in the German market - said Golubović.

Foreign trade in the last four years increased almost by 100 percent and last year it amounted to EUR 248 million. An upward trend has been recorded in terms of the number of German tourists coming to our country, which is very important. German investors invested nearly EUR 300 million in Montenegro, since the restoration of the state independence in 2006.

At the meeting it was announced that the air availability should be strengthened through joint activities and the idea is to introduce an airline between Hamburg and Podgorica.
