UAE Ambassador at the Chamber

The Vice President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy Ivan Saveljić hosted the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Montenegro Abdul Salam Hareb Al Rumaithi. On this occasion interlocutors discussed the possibilities of intensifying bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the UAE investment activities in our country.   

The Ambassador Al Rumaithi has emphasized that Montenegro has significant development potentials, but the intensive investment activity of the UAE requires projects carried out in accordance with international standards, accompanied by adequate feasibility studies and documentation guaranteeing the ownership and legal status. Arab investors, according to Al Rumaithi, are primarily interested in tourism, energy and agricultural projects. He praised the openness of the Montenegrin Government and citizens to representatives of this country.

Saveljić stressed the traditionally good relations between Montenegro and the Arab countries. He said that the Chamber of Economy is the umbrella organization of the Montenegrin business community and the institutional partner to the Government of Montenegro.

He stresses that the Chamber encourages the Montenegrin companies to create investment ideas adequately in order to get the necessary capital easier.

They also discussed the implementation of infrastructure projects such as the Bar - Boljare Highway, the Adriatic - Ionian Highway, the need for reconstruction of railway infrastructure, expanding capacities of Montenegrin airports, as well as opening direct air flights between the UAE and Montenegro etc.
