Fast services to make easier busy lifestyle

28/12/2021

We look forward to every new business, which becomes part of the Glovo family. We are finalizing the terms and conditions of cooperation and partnership with one of the largest retail chains in Montenegro, which will significantly contribute to more favourable experience offered through our platform, says Radović.

Glovo is the name we have all quickly accustomed to. This application has become an integral part of our devices, and the services it provides are our daily routine.

In the interview for Glasnik, Ms. Bojana Radović, Glovo's country manager for Montenegro, emphasized their triple mission in our country - the company brings improved visibility to local companies, encourages and creates employment opportunities and makes daily routines easier.

- Our primary goal is to ensure our presence in every town in Montenegro, so that we can reach every corner and deliver our customers everything they need. We also want to cooperate with the best brands offered by the Montenegrin economy. We are on a good path to achieve both goals soon - says Radović.

Glasnik: We would appreciate if you could tell us more about the way Glovo was founded, where the headquarters are and in which countries it operates?

B. Radović: Glovo was established in Barcelona in 2015, and it represents a unique multi-category application and one of the world's leading delivery platforms. Glovo operates in a total of 24 countries and more than 1,100 cities in South-western Europe, Eastern Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. One of Glovo's goals is to meet the customer demands through the immediate supply of goods and services. We achieve this by enabling our partners to put on disposal their catalogues and to have an access to our customer data base, while couriers are connected to restaurants or retail partners in order to fulfil customer orders. It has a triple mission in our country - the company brings improved visibility to local companies, encourages and creates employment opportunities and makes daily routines easier. We have been operating in Montenegro since February this year and in less than 12 months we have employed and hired over 200 employees and associates and established cooperation with around 500 partners.

Glasnik: How did you come up with the idea to launch Glovo in Montenegro during the pandemic? How do you assess the company's contribution to making everyday life easier for our residents in these, to put it mildly, challenging conditions?

B. Radović: Montenegro is an important market for us, we are present in seven towns, and our first and most important plan for Montenegro is to be present in every town, in order to enable all citizens to have access to important products through our platform. The specificity of our model is that users can find on our platform almost everything they need - from flowers or a chocolate as a gift for the loved ones, through groceries, pharmaceutical supplies, and even courier service. Today's life is fast, and obligations are often numerous, and we want to make it easier for our users to meet their obligations, in order to have more time for themselves and their loved ones. Also, through cooperation with businesses, from the smallest to the largest players in the market, we support the local economy, thus achieving a double effect, positive for all participants in the platform.

Glasnik: How large is the Glovers’ network in Montenegro? Are you satisfied with the interest in employment in your company, the number of restaurants/other facilities you cooperate with? Why should someone choose you for cooperation, in either of the two ways mentioned?

B. Radović: From the beginning, we have encountered positive reactions from both users and businesses. Let me remind you that Glovo came to Montenegro in the midst of the third wave of the pandemic and was a link between small businesses and the end users in the period of partial or total lockdown. During this period, we have earned the confidence of customers and partners and we are growing continuously. We are currently in the phase of finalization of terms and conditions for cooperation and partnership with one of the largest retail chains in Montenegro, which will significantly contribute to more favourable experience offered through our platform.

As our offer in Montenegro is expanding, we are constantly looking for associates, and all interested parties can get more information on our website and through social networks.

In Montenegro, we cooperate with about 500 partners, and if they use our application "smartly", they can ensure significant visibility of their brand within our community, which is expanding every day. We at Glovo are very happy to help them, because all this ultimately contributes to the improvement of individual businesses present on our application, as well as to their offers - which is our common goal and mission – of all of us in Glovo as well as of partners present on the application.

Glasnik: At the regional level, you have taken over the competitive business of Donesi. How important was this for the results you achieve?

B. Radović: Donesi has achieved impressive results in the region, thus putting this platform in the focus of all international food delivery companies. The potential of the whole region when it comes to food delivery was recognized by the Glovo’s international team, which led to the acquisition of Donesi and further expansion, both in terms of offer and variety of services, as well as geographical coverage and complete end-user experience.

What we inherited through the transaction with Donsei, we are developing further- we have new partners, and the services and products we offer become more diverse every day. We try to have regular activities on our platform, together with partners, which help promoting and testing products, and this has proven to be very useful for both partners and the end users. Therefore, I believe that the transaction with Donesi provided added value to the Montenegrin market offer.

Glasnik: How do you assess the business environment for Glovo in Montenegro? Do you encounter certain problems, barriers...?

B. Radović: The challenges we are facing in Montenegro are not much different from those our colleagues are facing around the world. As our offer is expanding, we are constantly looking for couriers, in order to continuously reduce the delivery time. In the Capital, we are even planning "ultra fast" food delivery, within 15 minutes. Delivery in the summer period on the coastal part will also be a potential challenge, due to the large crowds. In addition, we are always looking for new partners and relevant content on the platform, so I take this opportunity to invite all those interested actors to get in touch with us. We look forward to every new business which becomes part of the international Glovo family.

Glasnik: What are the company's plans for the next period - are there opportunities for development, expansion of new services, etc?

B. Radović: Our primary goal is to ensure our presence in every town in Montenegro, so that we can reach every corner and deliver our customers everything they need. We also want to cooperate with the best brands offered by the Montenegrin economy. We are on a good path to achieve both goals soon. In addition, in the coming period we will focus on the development of "Q commerce" i.e. ultra fast deliveries in the segment of consumer goods retail facilities, such as pet shops, bookstores, technical equipment and children's program. Our idea is to provide home delivery of the complete offer existing in the towns where we are present. In this way, we are sure of developing local businesses, without exception, providing them with an additional sales channel as well as the quality logistics service.
